Background and Responsibilities
Assist in experimenting , planning, setting up and implementation on the field and tissue culture laboratory;
Engage in tissue culture medium preparation, sub-culturing, washing containers e.t.c.;
Collect plan data from breeding crossing blocks fields established for tissue culture experiments;
Assist in harvesting yam tubers and seed from the field the field experiments after applying tissue culture technique;
Collect samples from yam field,flowers, anthers, ovaries and florescence and carry out analysis on them in the lab;
Organize laboratory work for tissue culture experiments and trials;
Perform any other function as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
B.Sc. in Agriculture, Botany, Plant Science, Microbiology or related field with minimum of 2 years’ experience on plant tissue culture and related field.
